TURKEY, July 10, 2012 -- Funded by Summit University Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the European Union (EU) the Non-woven Fabric and Nanotechnology Research and Development Center was established.
This is the first center of its kind in Turkey and extensive nonwoven and nanotechnological research will be conducted at the new center.
The Ministry of Rural Development and the EU Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) through the Ministry of Science of Industry and Technology, was awarded a grant from the EU for 3 million Euros.
The total initial project budget of 5 million euro for 2012 will primarily fund carpet weaving and defense industry R & D but the new center will focus on other areas of nonwovens as well.
